Interactive Weapon Configurator | Unreal Engine Development & 3D Art

This project is an interactive weapon configurator developed in Unreal Engine, designed as a high-fidelity solution for firearm manufacturers to provide advanced customization tools for their clients. Heavily inspired by the ergonomics and fluidity of AAA titles like Call of Duty or Escape from Tarkov, this tool allows for real-time visualization and modular adjustment with photorealistic rendering.

- Technical Development (Full Blueprint) :

The entire application is built on a 100% Blueprint architecture. To ensure total modularity, I implemented a complex socket system that handles dynamic attachment mounting while fully supporting weapon and component animations.

The project followed an extremely tight 4-week schedule. I delivered a functional prototype on the very first day, with the core logic and the rest of the application developed within just one week.

The customization logic is driven by an integrated database that performs real-time compatibility checks for each accessory based on specific parameters. The sleek UI allows users to dynamically adjust the positioning of certain attachments, change colors and camouflage patterns, and instantly calculates the total cost to generate a quote. Additionally, a built-in screenshot function exports high-definition visuals for product spec sheets.

- 3D Creation & Workflow :

On the artistic side, I was responsible for the creation of the primary weapon (HK416), covering the entire pipeline: High-Poly, Low-Poly, UVs, baking, and texturing.

For this project, we chose a demanding "video game" workflow: every model features clean UVs to guarantee maximum texture precision and showcase the application's full visual potential. While we are aware that for a larger-scale production with a massive volume of assets, a triplanar mapping workflow without UVs could be used to optimize production time, our goal here was to achieve the highest possible quality.

While I handled the overall development and the main weapon, specific accessories—such as the silencer, flash hider, ergonomic grips, optic, and stock—were created by the other members of the team. (SAULNIER Camille, VERRIER Clement, PIRES Lucas)
